The ultimate trend for this year’s red carpet was certainly won
over with shades of nude. Cate Blanchett looked divine in her head-to-toe embellished
Armani Prive gown, Jessica Biel wore a shimmering Chanel column dress whilst Naomi
Watts was spotted in a cute, Calvin Klein number. Our girl crush model
Suki Waterhouse showed up to the after party in a flawless, one shoulder
Marchesa gown.
In contrast to the chic, elegant and glamorous nude shades
on the red carpet, blue hues certainly took a stand with our best dressed,
style savvy, 12 Years a Slave star, Lupita Nyong’o. She paraded in an elegant,
plunged neckline, powder blue, Prada gown, which floated to the floor in subtle
pleats. The icy-blue shade complimented her dark skin tone, leaving our leading
lady pulling off a killer performance.
Sandra Bullock also wore the shade of blue with her midnight
Alexander Mcqueen gown with crossover detailing to one side, and Amy Adam’s
sexy silhouette stood out from the crowd in her gorgeous, navy Gucci gown, with
subtle, crisp detailing.
And finally, metallic shades shone on the red carpet worn by
Angelina Jolie in a 1920 styled Elie Saab gown, Jennifer Garner in a tiered
chandelier dress by Oscar de la Renta, and Kate Hudson in a magnificent,
exquisite structural design by Atelier Versace. And although Jennifer Lawrence suffered her second fall on the red carpet, her pop of block orange, peplum dress certainly made up for it.
