We grabbed five minutes with our seriously awesome Designer/Buyer/Merchandiser Scarlett, to get the lowdown on career advice and fashion loves.
Why did you choose a career in buying?
I've always been creative and studied art, design and photography. As I became older I found more of a natural interest in fashion and business. Buying is the prefect combination of creativity and academia.
What do you love about Lavish Alice style?
My favourite aspect of the brands style is the ability for one piece to instantly transform an outfit. The prints and silhouettes are really striking and are easily recognisable to the brand.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Currently I have been listening to The Arctic Monkeys new album AM. In LAHQ we are obsessed with our new Soundcloud playlist!
What's your favourite piece from the A/W13 LA collection?
The Oxblood PU A-line Midi Skirt.
Where do you look for inspiration when creating a new range?
I seem to have a library of ideas already stored in my head subconsciously, that I draw inspiration from. I'm majorly interested in street style for variations in prints and colours and of course the catwalk for silhouettes. NYFW has proven to be my favourite this September.
Advice for anyone wanting to get into the fashion industry?
I would definitely advise people to show a strong interest in fashion, aside from uni work. So showing their dedication through a blog or interning. Networking is very important and meeting new people and socialising within the industry is extremely beneficial.
Best perk of your job?
Working for amazing bosses at LAHQ, who reward you with Rianna Phillips clutch bags and give you the freedom to be creative!
Hidden Talent?
I am a signed model.
