GET THE DKNY LOOK FOR LESS

This year, forget the cringey Rudolph jumpers forced upon you by your crazy aunt, and be sure to put this slick, stylish number on your Christmas wish list; you’ll be rocking around the tree in ultimate, winter-glamour this Christmas.

With December only a matter of days away, we urge you to wrap up warm in style with our leather sleeved, grey jumper. It only seems right to treat your winter wardrobe to a new, staple jumper to fright off this season’s chilly weather with a powerful, statement look.

The must-have jumper was inspired by the use of luxurious leather at the DKNY A/W13 catwalk, where the likes of leather, panelled sleeves and angular, trimmed, leather edges were taking the show by storm. The Lavish Alice jumper captures this completely on trend look to a tee, with leather look sleeves contrasted with a grey body and cuffs, resulting in complimentary textures standing out for a head turning look. The jumper’s tailoring screams edgy with the triangular cut out adding unique detailing, and a neat leather trim for a dramatic finish.

Although it may not be your designer label, the premium replica design can be picked up for an amazing discounted price of £20 at Lavish Alice. The cool, chunky knit can be layered in the day with tights and our zebra print shorts, teamed with flat, cut out boots, or dressed up for the snowy evenings with our black, panel skirt, and metallic, heeled boots.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA: THE BLACK ASYMMETRIC SKIRT

Mega-babe Amy of Amy Valentine absolutely rocked the Black Asymmetric Panel Mini Skirt! Referring to ultimate blogger Ivania Carpio, and her minimal approach to fashion, Amy opted for a monochrome look compared to her usual glam-grunge style.

Amy says; "I decided to keep it monochrome but casual by teaming the skirt with my WTFUK crop top and dainty silver accents."

ALICE'S NORTHERN SOUL

We are all super excited here at Lavish Alice, as we are featured in this month’s issue of the fabulous Women’s Wear Buyer magazine (WWB), showing off what the Manchester fashion scene has to offer. WWB is the go to magazine for all things fashion, being the UK’s only trade title exclusively dedicated to the womenswear industry.

Last month WWB came into the office to grab a few wise words with the brainchild behind Lavish, founder and director, Mathew Newton. He told WWB of Manchester’s young and vibrant, creative influx of fashion labels, proving that the fashion industry isn’t just about the big capital down south.
Manchester has safely secured its role as a “hugely important industry hub,” with international retailers such as Danish fashion house, Bestseller, taking on a northern operation as part of their UK move.

We’re extremely proud to be shortlisted by WWB to be named as a strong contributor to the wealth of fast moving, on trend fashion, keeping Manchester fashion scene on the map. Each issue of WWB has a whopping readership figure of 21,000, so be sure to get your Lavish Alice buys before they all sell out!

LAVISH ON PETITE NOIR

Despite the grammatical error in the French name, no mistakes are made with Yannick Iluga’s unique musical creations. With only a few singles in the bag, he’s already been described by the musical press as “Joy Division meets Paul Simon in Graceland.”

The 21 year old South African explores two of our fave musical styles, dark indie layered with electronic beats, which is then skilfully crafted through a South African Instagram filter. The multi-instrumentalist describes his music as "noir wave" or "new wave with an African aesthetic". This striking combination has left him successfully supporting the massive indie-electro band Foals! Youthful Yannick’s voice has a haunting, soulful maturity that has us completely hooked.

LA DOES BERRY LIPS

We all know that this winter is all about the berry lip. As the months get colder, our skin is looking paler with those summer tans slowly dissolving, so our faces need a quick refreshing boost to bring that much desired colour back. The perfect quick-fix solution is an indulgent deep lip colour adding warmth to bring back our glow.

This sheer skin, contrast lip was seen smothered along the AW13 London, New York and Milan catwalks, yet the look can be sported in so many ways. Pat McGrath for Dolce & Gabbana is the master of the seductive raspberry lip, with Philip Lim styling a darker browner, autumn tone for his ladies on the walk.

LA loves the berry lip so much as it's an edgy statement finish that expresses a sophisticated maturity when teamed with a shimmering skin and smoky eye, completing your AW13 winter look.
